Fraser, Michigan Position Summary The Administrative Assistant at Fraser Eye Care Center plays a vital role in supporting the clinical operations of our busy ophthalmology practice. This position utilizes patient communication systems, scheduling tools, and data tracking processes, to assist clinical staff with patient care. The ideal candidate is highly organized, meticulous, and committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities Review electronic medical records (EMR) to prepare and send correspondence to referring providers and fulfill physician-directed medical records requests in a timely manner. Verify accuracy of patient and provider information, including demographics and addresses; identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and communicate with physicians as needed to clarify and ensure complete, accurate documentation. Answer incoming calls from patients, referring physicians, and external partners. Track and manage patient data, appointments, and follow-up needs. Support reporting and basic patient analytics to improve scheduling efficiency and patient care outcomes. Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and referring providers to ensure continuity of care. Interprets and reviews health care provider dictation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, using correct medical terminology. Work closely with physicians, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient experience. Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment focused on quality and compassionate care. Requirements High school diploma or equialent required; additional medical office or ophthalmic experience preferred. Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus. Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Demonstrates a warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), practice management systems, scheduling programs and spreadsheets. Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in patient interactions. Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy standards. Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
