Job Description
Job Overview The Insurance Public Adjuster Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and clerical support to one or more insurance public adjusters or claims teams. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of claims by managing documentation, maintaining communication, and handling general office tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proficient with office technology, and possesses strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive information and communicate professionally with claimants, adjusters, and third parties. Claims Support and Processing Open new claim files, ensuring all initial documentation is accurate and properly indexed in the claims management system. Process and manage incoming and outgoing electronic correspondence related to claims. Prepare, proofread, and format various claims documents Maintain electronic claim files, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Track claim status and follow up on outstanding documentation, ensuring adjusters have all necessary information for timely resolution. Administrative Duties Order and maintain office supplies for the claims department. Manage basic office equipment, including printers, scanners, and phone systems. Perform data entry, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality across all systems. Generate standard reports and summaries of claims activity for the adjusters or management. Previous clerical experience in an insurance setting is highly preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or higher in business administration or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably within the insurance industry. Familiarity with standard insurance claim processes and terminology is a significant advantage.
