Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections Location 374 New Bethel Church Road Fredonia, KY 42411 USA Description The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of the DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex is seeking candidates for an Administrative Specialist position. This position will perform administrative office support duties to facilitate details for management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare and draft various correspondence to include manuals, records, memos, and other records. Maintain filing system according to set procedure. Schedule appointments. Provide general information to institutional staff. Interpret procedures and regulations for the completion of daily work. Review documents according to set procedure. Order and track office supplies. Answer incoming phone calls. The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to multi-task, ability to work under pressure concerning deadlines, be detail oriented, have excellent communication and telephone skills, be organized, and be a team- player. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
One year of professional, administrative, or business experience. Substitute
