The Administrative Specialist I will be responsible for providing administrative support. Responsibilities include filing, data entry, answering telephones, and other general clerical duties.Essential Job Functions:
File and retrieve medical records upon request. Process records when patient is admitted. Assures all information is complete and accurate on admission record. Audits medical records. Assures laboratory and x-ray reports are received and filed for all completed tests. Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. Greet visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs. Set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material. Complete forms in accordance with company procedures. Orders supplies and equipment for the office. Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications. Sets up and maintains alphabetic and numeric files so that documents can be filed and retrieved in an orderly fashion; classifies active, inactive and archived files. Schedules and arranges appointments and reservations for meetings, facility usage, or other events. Interacts with staff, elected officials and the general public in person or by telephone in order to respond to inquiries, receive complaints, and resolve problems. Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence, reports, memos, charts, and labels. Receives, processes and distributes departmental mail. Performing data entry using word processing, spreadsheet or database commands and formats material as required. Performs other related duties as assignedQualifications:
High school diploma or GED; and, One or more years of clerical experience in an office environment.Experience:
