Executive Director 104 South Broad Street, Middletown, DE 19709 From $65,000 a year - Full-time From $65,000 a year - Full-time
JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation of the organization and facilities. The ED reports directly to the Board of Directors. He/she has direct supervision of the Deputy Director and Operations Manager. The ED oversees all WHW employees (Deputy Director, Operations Manager, Case Manager and 5 House Monitors). He/she works with the Deputy Director and Operations Manager to create/modify/implement employee and resident policies and procedures. The ED creates/manages budget and all financial transactions, promotes staff development; ensures appropriate facilities management, promotes WHW public relations and fundraising via in person activities/events and social media applications; participates in human resource management; plans and oversees resident programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fiscal Management Prepare/manage yearly budget in consultation with Treasurer. Prepare quarterly financial statement(s) for the Board of Directors. Manage insurance needs (liability, home owner, auto, etc.). Prepare necessary materials and participate in external audit reviews. Ensure compliance with sound fiscal policies and guard against fraud, waste and abuse. Run Payroll in Quickbooks Manage transactions in Quickbooks Manages bank and investment accounts Approves all expenditures Documentation/Record Keeping Management Prepare board meeting agenda Record, type and file board meeting minutes. Prepare and file program documents. Secure and maintain all employee files, financial documents and other confidential materials in centralized location as required for retention period or review. Grants and Fundraising Management . 1. Grant writing and contracts 2. Administer and maintain grants and contracts as directed by the grantors and contract guidelines. 3. Suggest, plan and manage fundraisers Human Resource Management In Consultation with DD and Operations Manager Hire, supervise, evaluate and terminate employees Mediate/resolve any staff/program conflicts Identify professional development opportunities for self and Staff. Execute compensation program based on parameters established by the Board of Directors Services Management Participate in public relations activities including speaking engagements, media events and community education events Leads Board of Directors meetings Is available for on-call for Warriors Helping Warriors as needed. Updates social media applications (Website, Facebook, etc.) Maintenance Recommend to the Board of Directors all capital expenditures or purchases of new equipment Ensure equipment, buildings and grounds are maintained/repaired
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Social Services, Management, Human Resources or related experience.
Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to individuals from varying socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Advanced computer and Microsoft product
  • Effective group and individual problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Supervisory/management experience
  • Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Conflict resolution
Leadership Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of available services and referral sources in the geographic area.
  • Grant writing and grant contract management.
  • Experience in formulating and maintaining budgets.
  • Updating website and social media platforms
  • Experience in operating/maintaining a transitional housing facility
  • Experience in Quickbooks Online and Payroll
  • Experience in working with the veteran homeless population
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Personnel employed at The Brian Conley Veterans Resiliency Center are required to perform physical demands associated with their job. Some specific requirements include but are not limited to the following: 1.

Able to complete documentation by the means of the written words. Clearly and accurately. 7. Able to climb stairs
