Job Description

Overview Provides communication linkage between Shands Healthcare, the Department of Nursing and Patient Services, Nursing Management, Nursing Units, STAT Program and Patient Access Center. Provides structure and support to the Department of Nursing and Patient Services by following established office procedures, included but not limited to having accurate documents/data available to formulate appropriate decisions. Responsible for maintenance of manual and automated applications for the Central Staffing Office and Patient Access Center. Remains on the cutting edge for Staffing and Patient Placement Patient related software systems. Assists in the collection and maintenance of data for Director(s), Manager(s), and Administrator for patient placement and staffing related issues and projects. Functions as a technical resource for Shands Healthcare as it relates to the Central Staffing Office Systems and Patient Access Center. Provides information systems support to achieve the Organization's goal of excellent patient care and the Department of Nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent with three years progressively responsible work experience in a related field; or AA/AS degree in Information management or Information technology with one year experience preferred. Knowledge of principles and techniques regarding effective verbal and written communication. Ability to efficiently organize work load. Ability to improve efficiency of data organization and retrieval. Must be able to work in a computer based office environment where access to and control of confidential information is a significant issue.
