This role develops, standardizes, and deploys clear operating procedures and training materials for specialized depot automation and wash/sortation equipment across iGPS sites. The position partners with frontline operators, depot leadership, and project teams to improve safe, consistent equipment operation, drive faster ramp-up of new processes, and ensure materials are accessible in multiple formats (written SOPs, visuals, QR-code resources). Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing depot equipment and processes, from receiving/loading through put-away. Create step-by-step work instructions, visual job aids, and equipment reference materials (e.g., glossaries, component identification, drawings/locations). Design and publish troubleshooting, alarm-meaning guides, recovery procedures, and "acceptable options" playbooks for operating when equipment is down or constrained. Build and manage an accessible digital library of SOPs/manuals (e.g., via OneDrive/Teams) and deploy QR-code access and tablet-friendly formats at each site. Partner with depot operations, frontline operators, and depot management to validate processes, incorporate site-specific variations, and drive standardization across locations. Support training content development and roll-out, including operator training and certification record requirements and safety/regulatory training alignment. Define and document cleaning standards, frequencies, and approved materials for automation, wash equipment, filters, tanks/nozzles, tippers, and surrounding areas. Develop start-of-shift/start-of-day, shift-transition, end-of-day, and end-of-week/holiday routines and checklists (including pre-checks for automation, wash, and tippers). Create consumables checklists and reorder guidance (what, when, and where to reorder) and coordinate with site stakeholders as needed. Coordinate weekly progress tracking and reporting with the CI Director; maintain a rolling plan for task development, piloting (Hanover Park), and broader deployment. Use standard company tools (Office, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) and operational systems/accounts (e.g., Vector, MaintainX) as needed to develop and distribute content. Support initial scope focused on pallet sortation and wash equipment, pallet tippers, and grind equipment, with flexibility to expand based on business needs. Job Qualifications:
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel/macros) and familiarity with comparable automation tools. Ability to evaluate workflows and implement efficiency gains. Strong written and verbal skills to train staff and develop clear documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve process issues. Typically requires a high school diploma plus relevant experience; role may require a bachelor's degree or a specialized certification in automation or IT. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred to support a multilingual workforce and help meet safety training obligations. Job Competencies:
