About This Position:
The overall function of this position is to handle all aspects of payroll and serve as liaison to the Human Resource Analyst. This position is located in the Section 55/Gang 004 Business Office, at the DOTD Headquarters Annex and reports directly to the Administrative Program Manager 1. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in DOTD's structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Services laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Audits payrolls for Sections 42, 50, 51 and 55 employees for completeness and accuracy of attendance/ leave slips and verifies coding to ensure compliance with coding requirements, rules and regulations, correct wages, ISIS numbers, leave taken supported by properly executed leave slips when applicable, manual and electronic, hours worked, cost distribution, and proper signatures. Verifies and maintains FMLA reports and documents. Verifies employees' eligibility for FMLA after receiving request from employee. Provides documentation to employees and administrators when signatures are needed. Enters employee FMLA bucket into SAP and maintains balance throughout the allotted time period. Provides leave request to employees and managers when requested. Communicates with section personnel frequently to ensure accuracy and completeness of calculation of leave usage and/or working hours recorded on time sheets. Confers with Human Resources Analyst to obtain information and answer questions involving employees' payroll matters. Serves as liaison to the payroll and insurance section in Human Resources concerning prior period adjustments and insurance inquiries. Verifies for mathematical accuracy Toll Collector's Daily Reports for the Plaquemine/Sunshine Ferry Crossing. Transmits data taken from all of these reports into the DOTD Ferry Activity Reporting System and generates a report for filing with the Toll Collector's Daily Report.
