Introduction to role:

As Senior Administrative Coordinator to the Global Head of Oncology Corporate Affairs, you will be the force that keeps a high-performing, globally dispersed team operating at pace and on priority. Based in Gaithersburg, MD, you will orchestrate complex operations so the leader and her team can focus on advancing our oncology narrative across all phases of development. Your judgment, precision and forward planning will help transform ambitious goals into day-to-day progress. Accountabilities:
Executive Operations Leadership:
Lead a sophisticated, high-volume calendar across multiple time zones; make priority calls and protect focus time to enable the leader to deliver at scale.
Global Travel and Expenses:
Handle end-to-end domestic and international travel; prepare accurate expense reports and ensure timely follow-through on all logistics. Communications on Behalf of the
Leader:
Communicate professionally on the leader's behalf; follow up on actions and clarify assignments to keep work moving.
Document and Presentation Excellence:
Produce accurate, well-formatted documents, PowerPoint presentations and reports under tight deadlines; draft and substantially edit materials that often include technical terminology and statistical data.
Meeting and Event Delivery:
Prepare agendas, presentation materials and minutes; plan and implement internal and external meetings and events, providing delegate support and liaising with vendors and agencies.
Project Coordination:
Provide project support and logistics across initiatives that span global audiences; track actions and dependencies to ensure on-time delivery.
Budget Stewardship and Systems:
Provide budget management and purchase order support within AstraZeneca systems, including Coupa and Anaplan; ensure functional information is accurate, accessible and integrated across the team.
Process Improvement:
Apply knowledge of AstraZeneca processes and systems; recommend and implement better ways of working and process enhancements to drive efficiency.
Community Contribution:
As part of the global PA and administrative community, provide back-up support and training to colleagues and actively contribute to shared practices.
Discretion and Influence:
Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and use tact, persuasion and negotiation to progress objectives.
Essential Skills/Experience:
H.S. diploma required; college degree preferred. 5+ years of administrative support experience. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and competency with virtual technologies (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom). Exemplary written and verbal communications skills. Ability to interact expertly with executives and employees at all levels. Excellent team working, networking and influencing skills. Ability to think creatively, beyond boundaries of own job, challenges the status quo and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement. Flexible to adapt to constantly evolving needs and deadlines and ability to prioritize time critical assignments. Ability to work in a global environment including understanding of cultural differences. Experience with effectively multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and discretion. Ability to demonstrate tact, persuasion and/or negotiation to accomplish the objectives.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience of providing administrative support in a global corporate environment across multiple time zones. Experience using AI tools for productivity. Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology firm is desired.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $68,155.20 to $102,232.80. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
