Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented administrative professional supporting the Religious School and Cantorial office, with primary responsibility for coordinating the B'nei Mitzvah program - including scheduling, tutor coordination, and multi-year student tracking. No prior knowledge of Judaism, Hebrew, or B'nei Mitzvah is required, and we welcome applicants of all backgrounds - we will teach the content. We are seeking someone who communicates clearly, follows through consistently, and takes genuine satisfaction in keeping complex systems running smoothly. This role plays a central part in helping families navigate one of the most meaningful milestones in their child's life. Who You Are

  • Provide administrative support for a religious school program serving ~250 students, including communications, registration, attendance, classroom logistics, supplies, event coordination, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
  • Support the Cantor with scheduling, communications, and program logistics a. Serve as a liaison with families and staff b. Assist the Cantor in organizing and digitizing, and occasionally, distribution of sheet music to hired musicians
  • Coordinate all aspects of the B'nei Mitzvah program, including scheduling, date changes, tutor coordination, and student tracking from 4th grade through the ceremony a.
Plan and oversee weekly B'nei Mitzvah Bootcamp (Tuesdays, 4:00-5:45 PM) b. Schedule and coordinate meetings, rehearsals, and student/family communications in partnership with clergy c. Prepare student materials and maintain accurate program records
  • Track payroll for religious school staff, tutors, and musicians and coordinate with the Senior Accountant; maintain accurate financial and program data Core Skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Accurate record-keeping and data tracking
  • Comfort using Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines across a multi-year process
  • Comfort with administrative systems and financial tracking Terms
Salary:
$50,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience

  • Optional work from home on Wednesdays
  • Occasional Sunday mornings (6-8 per year; comp day provided)
  • Reports to the Director of Education and the Cantor
