Work Shift Job Description Job Duties:

- Provide administrative support for the providers of the Department of Dermatology. Maintain and coordinate multiple schedules for physicians and arrange meetings, process clinic cancellations, schedule appointments, confirm appointments, and communicate with all staff members about physician availability and schedules. 25%
- Perform secretarial and administrative duties independently with the ability to manage all routine situations with expertise.
Collaborates and interacts with faculty, colleagues, and patients daily. Review the schedules daily and recognize potential problems with minimal supervisor assistance. Responds to all messages in the Epic inbasket daily along with requests from physicians/clinical staff promptly. 15%
- Assist other administrative staff in scheduling appointments and provide back-up coverage as needed. Check the fax machines, pick up mail, and upload and scan documents as needed. 15%
- Answer phone calls, manage all correspondence to include sorting mail, completing patient forms, responding to medical record requests and miscellaneous items as needed. 15%
- Attend departmental meetings and
UMA/MUSC
sponsored meetings/ events or training sessions. Complete all required training elements as well as updates within the time designated. Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
