Job Description

Responsibilities You will perform a variety of technical and specialized professional and administrative duties to support the Board Executive, licensing and compliance staff, and/or other business functions for the Board of Nursing. You will serve as the disciplinary and compliance monitoring designee for the Board of Nursing, including reviewing and serving consent orders and preparing documentation for review. You will assist with monitoring compliance with work-site approvals and with coordinating non-compliant procedures and/or reinstatement of license privileges. You will assist with the preparation of board hearings and meetings. You will respond to inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods providing timely and accurate responses related to the Nursing licensing and disciplinary processes. You will perform other administrative functions such as processing applications, assisting with information technology issues, conducting research, preparing reports, preparing information for and updating the Board's website, working on special projects, correspondence, and mailers, assisting with publications, maintenance of files, and other administrative and business functions to support the Board. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree and two (2) years' of relevant program experience. Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong customer service skills. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to understand and follow complex instructions. Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft products. Other Requirements Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing. Occasional work outside of normal office hours, including weekends. May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
