Job Description

Administrative Assistant / Communication Coordinator - Part-time Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 10000 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC, is seeking an individual (non-member) to serve together with its ministerial staff in church office operations. The position is part-time, salaried, and averages 16 hours per week. Compensation range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Applicants are expected to work well with other staff as a team member in ministry, as well as to welcome congregational members and visitors. The position includes preparing and coordinating communications with congregational members and the surrounding community. Such communications include weekly worship bulletins, worship bulletins for occasional services, weekly e-news, a monthly newsletter, occasional e-blasts (either email or text), and social media content for Facebook and Instagram. Proficiency in office procedures, as well as working knowledge of office computers and copy equipment. Applicants should possess a high degree of competence with Microsoft Office Word and Publisher, as well as an excellent working knowledge of online services such as Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), Canva, Mailchimp, and social media platforms. Applicants will be self-motivated with a positive attitude, solid work ethic, and excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
