Description:
St. Peter Catholic Church, a Dominican parish in downtown Memphis, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Office Assistant & Communications Support . This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time depending upon parish needs and candidate qualifications. Position Summary The Office Assistant & Communications Support position provides essential administrative, hospitality, communications, and records-management support for parish operations and ministries. The role supports the mission and strategic priorities of the parish through accurate administration, professional hospitality, and consistent communication support.
Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities include:
Front office reception and parish hospitality Telephone and visitor support Maintenance of parish records and sacramental data Scheduling baptisms and maintaining sacramental documentation Weekly bulletin and parish communications support Website and digital communications updates Stewardship mailings and parish database management Liturgical ministry scheduling using Ministry Scheduler Pro General office coordination and administrative support
Requirements:
Qualified candidates should demonstrate: Strong organizational and administrative skills Professional and hospitable interpersonal communication Competence with office software and digital tools Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities Comfort working within a Catholic parish environment Working Environment This position involves daily interaction with parishioners, clergy, staff, volunteers, and visitors in an active parish office setting. Some occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for parish events and liturgies.
