Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate, and purchase tooling required to produce corrugated cartons and displays. Additional duties may include evaluating incoming art, supplying all necessary files, specifications and tooling requirements to vendors when ordering printing plates and cutting dies. Maintain all tooling, obsoleting as needed on a quarterly basis. Processing (checking for printing and spec/size requirements) all incoming tooling as well as outbound transfers. In addition, supporting the Administrative Assistant role as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in continuous improvement and effectively communicates opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
  • Evaluates all artwork to make necessary changes for best print quality in production and provide all layouts to die board makers as well as plate suppliers. Coordination with production on an as needed basis.
  • Provide all vendors with print plate specifications and die board requirements.
  • Purchase and coordinate all cutting dies and printing plates.
  • Monitors and maintains all in house tooling.
  • Checking of all tooling at their arrival time for the correct sizes, layouts, traps and bleeds.
  • Advise sales force on technical aspect of printing, mounting and die cut capabilities.
  • Lay out die boards and send files to vendors.
  • Check in all tooling including: Samples for die board and proofs for the printing plates.
  • Relay special information to production regarding customer specifications.
  • Liaison between Customer Service and Production
