This role is critical to maintaining the firm's financial health by managing outstanding client balances, ensuring accurate billing practices, and supporting compliant collections efforts from start to finish. Role Highlights Manage the full lifecycle of post-representation client accounts and outstanding balances. Draft and send final demand letters with detailed, itemized invoices. Conduct professional collection calls and written follow-ups with former clients. Negotiate and formalize structured payment plan agreements. Track aging accounts receivable and escalate accounts strategically. Prepare documentation for small claims filings and coordinate litigation referrals. Ensure all collections activity complies with applicable laws and professional conduct rules. We're Seeking High accountability with a strong ownership mindset over assigned accounts. Clear, firm communicators who remain professional under pressure. Individuals who can balance persistence with discretion and ethical judgment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of accounts. Problem-solvers who can navigate sensitive financial conversations effectively. Job Requirements 2-3+ years of experience in legal billing, collections, or accounts receivable (law firm experience preferred) Familiarity with legal billing platforms such as PracticePanther, FileVine, Clio, or similar Working knowledge of California small claims procedures and collections enforcement tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of confidentiality and professional responsibility standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings a disciplined, process-driven approach to collections while maintaining professionalism in every client interaction. They are detail-oriented, ethically grounded, and capable of handling sensitive financial matters with confidence and accuracy. This is a key role for someone who wants to contribute directly to the operational strength and financial stability of a growing law firm.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
