Full-Time Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Collections Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for managing outstanding medical accounts, following up on unpaid claims, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical billing processes, and a proactive approach to resolving account issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient balances Contact insurance companies to resolve claim denials, underpayments, and delays Review and analyze accounts receivable aging reports Work with patients to set up payment plans and resolve billing inquiries Maintain accurate and up-to-date account documentation Identify trends in claim issues and escalate when necessary Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in medical collections or insurance follow-up required Knowledge of insurance claim processes, EOBs, and denial management Familiarity with medical terminology and coding is a plus Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts Proficiency with billing software and
Microsoft Office Preferred Skills:
Experience with EMR/EHR systems Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policies
