Collections Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring timely and detail-oriented resolution of outstanding balances while maintaining strong customer relationships. This is a short-term contract to permanent position.

Responsibilities:

Handle member account collections with attention to detail and ensure timely resolutions. Communicate clearly with members to discuss outstanding balances, payment options, and account details. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns effectively. Maintain detailed and accurate records for all member interactions, payments, and agreements. Work closely with internal teams to support member satisfaction and ensure account accuracy. Identify financial solutions tailored to individual member needs. Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure compliance with company policies. Utilize collections and account management software to track and manage accounts. Stay informed on industry best practices and apply them to improve collection processes. Previous experience as a Collections Specialist or a similar role is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive financial discussions. Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in using computer systems and collections/account management tools. Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. Knowledge of commercial and consumer collections processes is highly desirable.
