Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in business-to-business collections while maintaining a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships, ensuring accurate account management, and driving payment resolutions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to businesses to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve collection issues.
- Research and analyze account histories to accurately track payments and reconcile discrepancies.
- Verify purchase orders and ensure all invoices are correctly issued and documented.
- Maintain clear and detail-oriented communication with clients to facilitate payment updates.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve collection processes and minimize outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and account management.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and organize financial data for collections tracking.
- Monitor accounts receivable to identify and address overdue payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a firm and detail-oriented demeanor.
- Prepare detailed reports on collection activities and progress for review. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial collections or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of credit and collections processes, including business-to-business collections.
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts receivable management.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage client interactions effectively.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for accurate account research.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to remain firm and focused in challenging situations.
