Job Description
Make a Difference in People's Financial Lives At Metro Credit Union, we're more than just a financial institution—we're a community partner. We're looking for a Collector who can balance professionalism and compassion while helping members navigate financial challenges. What You'll Do Connect with members by phone, email, and mail to resolve delinquent accounts. Offer solutions with empathy—whether that's payment plans, financial counseling resources, or restructuring options. Maintain accurate records and follow compliance standards. Analyze delinquent accounts and recommend appropriate actions when necessary Collaborate with other departments to support members and protect the credit union. Process and monitor repossessions, charge-offs, forced-placed insurance, disputes, and other troubled asset activities. What Makes You Successful You communicate confidently and professionally. You remain calm during difficult conversations. You can balance compassion with accountability. You are highly organized and detail-oriented. You are proactive and self-motivated. You are comfortable making decisions and recommending solutions. You understand the importance of compliance and confidentiality What We're Looking For Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to stay calm and professional in sensitive conversations. Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills. 1-3 years of collections, lending, banking, financial services, or related experience. Experience with bankruptcies, repossessions, recoveries, or loan servicing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
