Collections Specialist

Description Collections Specialist - Business to Business, High Volume Collections Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a polished, experienced High Volume B2B Collections Specialist to join her client in Mineola, Long Island, NY. As the Collections Specialist, you will manage commercial collections activities, ensuring timely payments while resolving billing and payment discrepancies. This role requires a strong background in credit and collections, along with excellent communication and analytical skills. As the Collections Specialist, you will:

• Perform high-volume commercial collections via calls and emails to drive timely payment of outstanding balances.
• Run and analyze aging reports for your assigned accounts and develop effective recovery strategies.
• Partner with clients and internal teams to resolve billing issues and payment discrepancies.
• Apply and post cash accurately to customer accounts.
• Maintain detailed documentation of collection activity and communications.
• Execute collection strategies to reduce delinquencies and improve cash flow.
• Prepare and provide collection status updates and reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

• At least 5 years of experience in Commercial collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes, including billing and cash applications.
• Proficiency in analyzing aging reports and developing actionable recovery plans.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage client relationships effectively.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage multiple accounts.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in collections.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in collections operations.
