Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. This contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise in collections within a dynamic and detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong skills in commercial and consumer collections, as well as a solid understanding of billing and credit processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial and consumer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Monitor and track overdue payments and follow up with clients to resolve discrepancies.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve collection processes and reduce delinquency rates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of collection activities and account status.
- Analyze credit data and payment trends to support decision-making and minimize financial risks.
- Communicate effectively with clients to negotiate payment terms and resolve disputes.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding collection progress and account status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations during collection activities.
- Assist in identifying areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
- Strong knowledge of credit and billing collection processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to collections.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues.
