Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Victor, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for managing collection processes to ensure timely payments and maintaining positive relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and consumer collections and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the collection of outstanding payments from both commercial and consumer accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities and payment statuses.
• Communicate with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve collection-related issues.
• Analyze account histories to identify overdue balances and determine appropriate collection strategies.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on collection activities and account statuses.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing collection practices.
• Develop strategies to improve collection efficiency and reduce overdue balances.
• Provide exceptional customer service to maintain positive client relationships.
• Assist with credit-related tasks to support broader financial operations. Requirements
• Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
• Strong understanding of credit and collection processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and preparing reports.
• Ability to analyze account histories and develop effective collection strategies.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to collections.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients.
