Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Deductions Analyst to join a paper and packaging organization in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This position focuses on evaluating customer deductions, identifying underlying issues, and helping improve the accuracy of financial processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments, apply strong analytical judgment, and contribute to timely account reconciliation and dispute resolution.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate customer deduction claims related to promotional activity, pricing differences, freight matters, and shortage disputes to confirm legitimacy and financial impact.
  • Partner with customers as well as internal sales, customer service, and operations teams to gather supporting records and bring open deduction issues to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Analyze recurring deduction patterns to uncover root causes and suggest practical improvements that help prevent repeat issues.
  • Record deduction activity accurately within company systems, ensuring each item is classified and documented correctly.
  • Compile monthly aging reports on outstanding deductions and highlight key trends or concerns for leadership review.
  • Contribute to month-end close activities by reconciling deduction-related accounts and helping maintain accurate financial records.
  • Work alongside collections teams to support recovery efforts by resolving approved disputes and clearing valid balances.
  • Maintain well-organized documentation to support audit readiness and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with department initiatives focused on process enhancement and system-related improvements.
