Job Description
Job Overview Our client is looking for a Collections Analyst to join their Finance team and take ownership of outstanding account balances. This role is centered around outreach, resolving payment disputes, and cash collection across an assigned customer portfolio. The right candidate is detail-oriented and comfortable handling professional conversations around sensitive account matters in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Own a portfolio of customer accounts and conduct regular outreach via phone and email to recover past-due balances Pull and analyze aging reports to determine where collection efforts should be prioritized Keep detailed records of payment commitments, open disputes, account activity, and follow-up actions Engage customers on outstanding balances, invoice questions, and credit-related matters in a professional manner Work cross-functionally with billing, operations, and finance to identify and clear roadblocks to payment Prepare updates on collection activity and account status for recurring AR review meetings Bring high-risk or long-aged accounts to leadership's attention when escalation is warranted Support improvements to collection workflows, reporting, and system usage Qualifications 2+ years in collections, accounts receivable, or a related finance role Confident communicator who can navigate difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism Hands-on experience with aging reports, payment tracking, and account reconciliations Highly organized with strong follow-through and documentation habits Comfortable juggling multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP or accounting systems; CRM experience is a bonus
