The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Commercial Collections & Insurance Recovery Specialist to manage a portfolio of both business-to-business commercial collection accounts and insurance subrogation recovery claims . This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys investigative work, problem-solving, negotiations, and building resolutions through effective communication. You will work directly with businesses, insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and responsible parties to recover outstanding balances while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, compliance, and client service. Whether your background is in commercial collections, insurance recovery, subrogation, or a related field, this position offers the opportunity to work a diverse portfolio while contributing directly to the success of our clients and organization. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of commercial collection and insurance recovery accounts Review claim files, supporting documentation, and recovery opportunities Conduct outbound recovery efforts through phone, email, and written correspondence Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and dispute resolutions Investigate accounts, identify recovery potential, and resolve obstacles to payment Maintain accurate account notes and activity records within the case management system Monitor portfolio performance and recovery progress against established goals Collaborate with clients, insurance carriers, legal partners, and internal team members Escalate accounts for legal review when appropriate Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies What We're Looking For Prior experience in commercial collections, insurance claims, subrogation, business-to-business collections, or a related recovery environment Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills Heavy outbound phone experience and professional business communication skills Ability to investigate accounts, analyze documentation, and identify recovery opportunities Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local collection laws, including FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA, the Rosenthal Act, UCC filings, liens, payment bonds, and other commercial recovery tools Demonstrated commitment to compliance, ethical collection practices, and the protection of confidential information Comfortable managing a portfolio and working in a goal-oriented, performance-driven environment Proficiency with collection software, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and email communications Why Join Baker?
