We are committed to delivering world-class service to our clients while promoting a healthy work-life balance for our team. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Billing and Collections Specialist to support our Revenue Cycle Management team. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.
Salary:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year including bonuses
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate and perform billing and collections activities in compliance with payer, state, and federal requirements. Assist with insurance authorization requests, including submission, tracking, and follow-up to ensure services are properly authorized prior to billing. Maintain accurate authorization records and communicate authorization status or issues to appropriate internal teams. Monitor accounts receivable and perform follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims to ensure timely resolution. Communicate and escalate collections issues, including denials and potential write-offs, to the Manager of Revenue Cycle Management or other leadership as appropriate. Serve as a liaison between billing, collections, authorization, and administrative staff to support effective communication and coordination. Provide billing and collections feedback to administrative and leadership teams as requested. Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial, patient, and payer-related information at all times. Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and compliance with all applicable regulations and agency policies. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support revenue cycle operations.
Education:
High School Graduate required College coursework or degree preferred
Skills and Experience:
One (1) year of experience in billing, collections, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred Knowledge of healthcare billing requirements and payer guidelines preferred Strong computer skills required; familiarity with billing systems and standard office equipment preferred Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to read, write, and comprehend
English Physical Requirements:
Prolonged sitting with some standing required Occasional lifting, pulling, carrying, or pushing items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds Frequent stooping, kneeling, and reaching while accessing files Ability to work under deadlines and occasionally stressful conditions
Work Environment:
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment with routine use of computers and standard office equipment.
