Position Overview The Collections Specialist is responsible for following up with invoices that have been sent to payers but have not yet been paid. This individual is also responsible for researching denials and converting them. Essential Job Functions
Process at least 5 claims per hour
Manage a portfolio of payers ensuring collections, aging and denials are being processed in a timely fashion
Assist with billing efforts by eliminating denials and keeping payer rules up to date
Perform month end reconciliation; assisting other departments as needed
Meet daily, monthly and quarterly collection goals set by management
Ensure work being performed meets internal and external compliance requirements Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years related experience; healthcare, medical office, customer service preferred
Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong basic math and accounting skills
Proven ability to manage in a high call volume environment with accuracy and efficiency Preferences
