In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management and improve overall financial health of the practice. This job offers a predictable schedule and does not require working in the office on major holidays or weekends. Responsibilities Review billing portion of each patients encounter and record accurate billing and coding to submit to insurance or post to patient account. Review CPT codes and ICD-10 codes to determine correct classifications, make corrections as needed, review modifiers, and follow up with providers for any needed clarification to facilitate claims submission. Prepare and submit claims electronically through our EMR system, Athena. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve outstanding balances. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and payment histories. Stay current with medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Collaborate with medical office staff to verify patient information and resolve billing inquiries promptly. Track No-Shows and submit claims in accordance with office policy. Skills Strong knowledge of medical billing process and billing rules from insurance companies. Proficiency in coding systems including CPT and ICD-10. Experience working with EMR systems. Experience working with Athena is a bonus. Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff. Attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accurately in a dynamic environment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
