How you'll contribute A Charge Reconciliation Specialist who excels in this role: Ensures all billing charges are captured accurately and appropriately. This role is accountable for timely and accurate charge capture, data entry of patient encounters into the billing system, and resolution of assigned edits. Identifies, analyzes, and reconciles billing errors or omissions within assigned queues. Prepares and posts charges to appropriate accounts. Inputs patient registration information and resolves registration and charge-entry edits. Prepares and scans batches for data entry. Performs detailed data collection to track and monitor charge-entry activities. Resolves front-end edits and batch maintenance issues. Collaborates with department leadership to improve the efficiency and accuracy of charge processes. Monitors department queues to ensure timely processing. Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all patient encounter charge entries. Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with qualifications. What we're looking for
Education:
Completion of a Medical Coding and Billing program or related training preferred Associate degree in a related field preferred
Experience:
2-3 years of operating room medical billing and coding experience preferred Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems required
Skills:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Proficiency in medical record systems Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and CMS requirements and standards
