In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the billing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial transactions. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, support compliance with accounting standards, and enhance customer satisfaction through precise billing practices. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and process invoices using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and other financial tools Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of debits and credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance Manage accounts receivable by following up on overdue payments and negotiating payment plans with clients or vendors Enter data accurately into multiple systems including 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors related to revenue cycle management or governmental accounting standards Assist with journal entries, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding for medical billing, and CPT coding for healthcare services as needed Support accounts payable processes and perform detailed account analysis to ensure proper documentation of financial transactions Communicate effectively with clients or internal teams via phone etiquette and customer service skills to resolve billing issues promptly Experience Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping Familiarity with medical billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and revenue cycle management in healthcare settings Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to analyze data accurately using analysis skills and attention to detail Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong negotiation skills paired with professional phone etiquette for effective communication with clients or vendors Join us as a Billing Assistant where your expertise will directly contribute to our organization's financial health!
