Flexible schedules for work/life balance Position Profile Responsible for billing and collection activities for Hospice of the Valley and its subsidiaries across all programs. Completes pre-billing review and documentation in the EMR; prepares, submits, and follows claims through the clearinghouse to payer adjudication; and performs post-billing tasks to support accurate, timely reimbursement. Monitors accounts receivable aging, completes proactive follow-up with payers and patients/families, processes adjustments, and maintains current A/R documentation and collection status in the EMR; may also post payments and adjustments when applicable. Key Responsibilities Performs preliminary work in preparation for billing. Bills assigned payers and programs. Ensures timely follow-up and collection of outstanding accounts receivable for assigned payers. Maintains accurate accounts receivable documentation and data within the EMR. Provides responsive, professional service to internal and external customers. Ensures accurate posting of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance and self pay payments and adjustments to patient accounts. Maintains and enhances professional skills. Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct. Minimum Qualifications Minimum three years of healthcare billing and collections experience. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial and AHCCCS insurance and billing regulations and guidelines. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence/persuade and gain commitment from others. Professional image, enthusiastic attitude and self-motivated work ethic. Excellent computer skills, including intermediate-level Excel. Strong math and data entry skills, including 10-key by touch. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully. Ability to manage time well, meet deadlines and perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-starter. Ability to deal with personal and confidential information in a professional manner.
