Patient Billing Specialist About Optima Medical:
Optima Medical is an Arizona-based medical group consisting of 30 locations and over 130+ medical providers, who care for more than 200,000 patients statewide. Our mission is to improve the quality of life throughout Arizona by helping communities "Live Better, Live Longer" through personalized healthcare, with a focus on preventing the nations top leading causes of death. We go beyond primary care with a full spectrum of services including cardiovascular health services, behavioral health, allergy testing and immunotherapy, in-house lab testing, imaging, chronic disease management, and other specialty health services. We are currently seeking a Patient Billing Specialist to join our team and support the financial experience of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claim submissions, patient account resolution, and a commitment to delivering professional, accurate, and compassionate service in a fast-paced environment.Patient Billing Job Responsibilities:
Maintains excellent customer service skills Maintains basic knowledge of medical billing terminology Ability to verify patients demographics & insurance information Ability to interpret & explain an EOB Ability to explain the difference between a copay, coinsurance, and deductible Collaborate with patients to set up payment arrangements Prepare invoices and record payments Collect patient payment information Send receipts and/or itemized bills to appropriate party Other administrative support duties as assignedPatient Billing Specialist Job Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in medical billing. At least 1 year of experience working with EMR and ECW preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Excellent communication, computer skills, and ability to pay attention to detail. Positive attitude that welcomes teamwork. Ability to multitask effectively. Experience with medical billing codes and terminology. Why join our team?
