JOB DESCRIPTION A
mid?sized law firm is seeking a detail?oriented Billing Coordinator to support the firm's accounting department with all phases of legal billing. This full?time position focuses on managing invoice preparation, coordinating billing edits, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of client invoices.
Position Overview:
The Billing Coordinator will handle a high volume of monthly billing activity, including invoice review, revisions, finalization, and electronic submissions. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline?driven environment. This position works closely with attorneys, clients, and internal staff to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, revise, and finalize monthly billing invoices with a high degree of accuracy. Manage the full billing cycle, including edits, adjustments, and posting invoices in the firm's financial system. Submit electronic invoices through various e?billing platforms and monitor submission status. Troubleshoot invoice rejections, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding items. Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and firm policies. Process a high volume of invoices while maintaining strong attention to detail. Communicate with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to address billing questions and provide support. Assist with preparing client budgets and handling ad?hoc financial tasks as needed. Utilize billing and accounting software, along with Microsoft Office tools, to complete daily responsibilities. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information. Perform additional accounting or administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
College degree required, with at least 5 years of billing experience in a professional services or law firm environment. Strong proficiency in billing and accounting software, along with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical abilities and comfort working with numbers. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast?paced setting. Capable of working independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with team members. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and firm information.
