The Administrative Assistant/Biller will be working directly with Principals, Project Managers and the Accounting Team at our headquarters in Montclair, CA. Hampton Tedder is an electrical power contractor, family owned and operated in Southern California for the past 65 years. We specialize in medium and high voltage electrical power engineering, design, planning, construction, maintenance, and testing. We have three major facilities in the southwest US with clients from all over the world. Successful candidate must possess strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Microsoft Excel as well as demonstrate above average attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Provide direct billing and accounting administrative support to Principals, Project Managers, and the Accounting Team Inputting detailed and accurate data into company programs and systems Identify document discrepancies and resolve issues Maintain monthly spreadsheet(s) in accordance with company policy and procedure File maintenance and updates in compliance with company policy and procedure Create and manage effective communications Perform additional duties as assigned Complies with internal controls and company policies
Essential Skills:
Accounting or finance experience - 2 years (Preferred) Knowledge of basic accounting principles Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines Extremely detail oriented Intermediate to advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite required Ability to type 50+ WPM Strong Math aptitude Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work cohesively within a team environment Possess above average organization and document control skills Self-motivated with a desire to learn Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of confidential information In-depth knowledge of industry best-practices a plus Position may require ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing and/or sittingBenefits:
Medical Dental Vision Retirement Paid Time Off All applicants will be tested on their level of Excel knowledge and typing speed. Candidates with Excel skill levels of basic or lower, and / or typing speed less than 50 WPM, will be excused from the testing process and will not advance on to the interview.
