Job DescriptionJob Description Coleman Chavez & Associates LLP is a Workers' Compensation Defense Law Firm that is currently seeking a Billing/Collections Specialist to support our Pasadena location.
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
We offer a comprehensive benefit package that includes Health, Dental and Life Insurance; PTO; Sick pay; 401k and 401k Roth; and Holiday pay. We are looking for a Billing/Collections Specialist to create invoices and billing materials that will be submitted to our clients for payment while following specific billing guidelines. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to the Billing Manager. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Assist in heavy paper and electronic collections - via email; no phone calling. Ø Set up new clients in database. Ø Post deposits and generate cash receipts reports. Ø Assist attorneys with questions regarding billing time entries and client billing guidelines. Ø Knowledge of casefriend (practice management software) a huge plus. Ø Generate paper and electronic invoices. Experienced insurance billing specialist a must. Ø Review all invoices for appropriate documentation. Ø Participate in a variety of special projects and reports. Ø Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions as outlined by client. Ø Work on special projects, reports, filing, research, etc. Ø Provide backup support and assistance to other staff members.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ø High school diploma required with some college or trade school preferred. Ø General knowledge of basic accounting rules and procedures required. Ø Proven strong analytic/problem solving/arithmetic skills. Ø Proficient with Microsoft Office products (with emphasis on Excel). Ø Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Highly organized. Ø Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner. Ø Must have strong work ethic, be reliable, and have a professional and positive attitude. Ø Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume work environment. Ø Dependable, work independently under minimal supervision. Ø Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
