This is an exempt, salaried position. Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Salary:
$85,000 to $95,000 per year
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Current Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification required.

Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure avoidance of billing errors, fraud, waste, and abuse. Manage program billing audit procedures to ensure accuracy in coding. Ensure all documentation is reviewed and that billing errors are corrected in a timely manner. Continuously assess billing workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased operational efficiency. Recommend changes when necessary and direct/assist in implementation of new processes. Develop and prepare management reports; provide analysis and make recommendations for areas of improvement. Hire, manage, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, including establishing work standards and expectations; effectively motivate staff to achieve objectives. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Additional Qualifications and Skills Five years of progressive experience in medical billing. Two years of experience leading a billing team preferred. Solid understanding of Medi-Cal insurance coding Ability to reach and understand medical documentation and associated medical coding. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard process Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills Flexibility in managing multiple deadlines and priorities Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including a proven ability to tactfully collaborate on challenging issues Ability to work independently with solid problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills; proven record of initiative and follow through Proficiency with Electronic Health Record billing functionality, preferably SmartCare. Proficient computer skills, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup and Pivot Tables) Able to pass criminal/background clearance CRF inspires and mentors the next generation of mental health professionals!
