Billing Specialist

Billing Specialist San Francisco , CA Contract To Hire Accounting $25/HR to $28/HR 05/13/2026 Century Group is excited to have partnered with a wonderful non-profit organization in San Francisco, to help them find an innovative and disciplined Billing Specialist to join their mission-driven team! Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $25.00 to $28.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor charges to ensure correct payment of claims and capitation deductions. Provide feedback to providers and front-end staff regarding data errors through tasking and emails. Research and resolve claim, payment, and capitation issues to ensure accurate billing and reimbursements. Respond to correspondence from payers and follow up on requests for additional information. Stay current on industry updates by participating in educational activities and attending staff meetings.

Requirements:

3 -5+ years of experience in medical billing practices with a strong understanding of industry standards. Previous knowledge of health care insurance claim practices, compliance, and regulations. Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in claims and payments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with providers, staff, and payers. Ability to analyze claim data and identify patterns in payment discrepancies. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance providers.
