Medical Billing Specialist

Medical Billing Specialist needed for small community clinic. Must be able to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. Must have experience with filing Medi-Cal and private insurance claims, medical coding expertise and claims knowledge to minimize and correct denials.

Duties to include:

Ensuring accurate claims information, including patient data, diagnoses and procedure codes. Submitting claims on time to primary, secondary and tertiary payers. Following up on denied or unpaid claims, including appeals and resubmissions. Generating patient statements and invoices, including prior payments and the remaining balance. Reconciling claims billing reports. Posting payments to correct line items when received. Collecting patient health histories. $28 to $30 per hour to start DOE.
