Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting in the charge entry billing processes , ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating smooth reimbursement workflows. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare operations through precise medical billing practices. We are seeking candidates wanting a part-time schedule in office at our Denver location.
M-F, 8-12AM.
No weekends. Duties Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate
ICD-9, ICD-10
diagnosis codes, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for billing purposes Ensure accurate and complete documentation of medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Submit claims to insurance companies promptly and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to facilitate timely reimbursements Collaborate with medical offices to verify patient information, insurance details, and ensure proper coding compliance Conduct medical collections by contacting patients or insurance providers regarding outstanding balances Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence in accordance with healthcare regulations Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, including
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding updates, and industry best practices Experience Proven experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD (International Classification of Diseases), CPT, and DRG classifications Experience working with EMR/EHR systems, preferrably ATHENA Health and other healthcare software platforms Knowledge of medical office procedures, insurance processes, and revenue cycle management Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical documentation accurately Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients Prior experience in medical collections or accounts receivable management is a plus Join us as a Medical Billing Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring our healthcare services are accurately billed and efficiently reimbursed.
