Exempt Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead and oversee our Medicaid billing operations. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant Medicaid reimbursement while supervising a billing team and serving as the subject matter expert for Medicaid billing processes and regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily Medicaid billing operations and billing staff Ensure accurate and timely Medicaid claim submission through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Develop, implement, and enforce Medicaid billing policies and procedures Monitor compliance with federal and state Medicaid regulations, including false claims standards Research, resolve, and track denied or unbilled claims within timely filing deadlines Perform claim testing, audits, and quality assurance reviews Train, coach, and manage billing team performance and development Analyze Medicaid billing data and trends to improve reimbursement and efficiency Prepare and present monthly billing and analytical reports to leadership Serve as the EHR subject matter expert for billing workflows and system improvements Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams on system enhancements and regulatory changes Stay current on Colorado and state-specific Medicaid billing regulations Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of billing experience, preferably in a Medicaid or healthcare environment Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience Strong knowledge of Medicaid billing regulations and compliance requirements Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (Therap preferred) Advanced Excel skills with strong reporting and analytical abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment Proven ability to lead teams and improve billing processes Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, business, or a related field Direct Medicaid billing experience Experience supporting IDD, behavioral health, or community-based services Knowledge of state survey processes or Medicaid audits Working Environment Primarily office-based Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Requires use of standard office technology and a personal mobile device Pay Transparency (Colorado Compliance) In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act , the salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year , based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
