We're looking for a sharp, motivated Insurance Collector to join our fast‑paced billing department and become a key player in our success. ⭐ What You'll Do As our Insurance Collector, you'll be the backbone of our claims resolution process.
Your day-to-day impact includes:
🚦 Owning the dashboard: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve claim kick-out edits with precision. 📊
Managing Accounts Receivable:
Work through system modules and reports to keep everything on track. 🔁 Driving claim resolution: Resubmit appeals, follow up on unpaid or misprocessed claims, and ensure proper reimbursement. 📞 Being the go‑to expert: Handle insurance-specific inbound calls with professionalism and clarity. 💼 Partnering for progress: Collaborate with billing teams to improve processes and strengthen workflows. ✔️ Delivering consistent quality: Maintain accuracy, integrity, and efficiency in every task. 🔧 Skills That Set You Up for Success 1-2 years of experience in medical billing Comfortable navigating insurance portals (e.g., Availity ) and reading EOBs Strong understanding of denials, appeals, ICD‑10, CPT , and billing workflows Excellent communication skills—clear, professional, and customer‑focused Experience with AR, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification Proficient in payment posting and general billing operations 🎯 Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Awesome!) EMR experience + Microsoft Office proficiency Familiarity with physical therapy, DME, workers' comp, or orthopedic claims High-volume billing department background Exposure to patient accounts, revenue cycle, and collections workflows 🎓 Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Associate degree or higher preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD codes, and modifiers is a plus 🏢 Work Environment & What Makes This Role Great If you thrive in a focused, no‑nonsense environment where productivity is celebrated, you'll feel right at home. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wallingford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
