Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Job Summary We are a busy, fast-paced neurosurgical practice seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits for procedures and treatments Review patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and missing information Prepare, review, and submit claims (electronic and paper) using billing software Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timelines Ensure insurance payments are accurate and compliant with contract terms Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies Coordinate billing for secondary and tertiary insurance carriers Review accounts for follow-up and patient responsibility Research, prepare, and submit appeals for denied claims Respond to patient and insurance inquiries regarding billing accounts Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing (neurosurgery or specialty practice preferred) Strong understanding of insurance processes, claim submission, and denial management Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Effective communication and problem-solving abilities Schedule Monday to Friday Full-time position Benefits 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Join Our Team If you're an experienced billing professional looking to grow within a specialized medical practice, apply today and become a valued part of our team.
