Job Description

To Apply for this Job Click Here A prestigious boutique law firm located on Brickell Avenue is seeking an experienced Billing Assistant. The Billing Assistant will provide financial, administrative, and clerical support across the firm. This role involves managing all client account analysis and billing functions, as well as performing additional accounting and bookkeeping duties in line with established policies and procedures.
Primary core duties:
Assist in opening new clients' matters in compliance with the internal policies and billing guidelines. Responsible for every month's distribution of pre-bills, processing requested revisions from the billing attorney, and generating final bills for electronic submission. Monitor internal billing progress, including personnel time entries, work-in-progress, receivables, expenses, and third-party costs. Handling Accounts payable and Accounts receivable. Maintaining vendor files, resolving discrepancies, and responding to payment inquiries. Prepare disbursement check requests and process vendor payments. Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status, work in progress, and balance. Reconcile vendor statements and corporate credit card statements. Provide backup assistance for other office admin duties (mail, phones, reception desk, etc.).
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years working as a billing assistant or bookkeeping/ accounting experience, preferably in a professional service firm. Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable and general accounting principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Advanced computer proficiency, especially in MS Office, Excel, and other billing software programs. Will teach legal billing application. Positive attitude and excellent work ethic. Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities required. Long-term intent
