Job Description
Description We are looking for a Billing Clerk to support invoicing operations for a Contract position based in Tampa, Florida. This role focuses on preparing accurate billing records, submitting invoices according to customer-specific guidelines, and helping maintain organized account information. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with billing systems, handling data with precision, and communicating with customers regarding invoice and payment matters.
Responsibilities:
- Review billing information carefully to confirm the accuracy of items such as trip time, mileage, and overall job duration before invoices are issued.
- Prepare and send invoices through customer portals or other approved submission channels based on individual client requirements.
- Verify that each invoice follows the correct customer format and is delivered within required deadlines to support prompt payment.
- Track submission confirmations and follow invoice progress to help resolve delays and maintain efficient billing cycles.
- Keep customer account records current by updating billing details and ensuring documentation remains accurate and complete.
- Respond to questions related to invoices, account balances, payment activity, and billing details in a timely and thorough manner.
- Create and examine taxi-related billing entries, including short-term jobs that may involve crane and rigger services.
- Use billing software and Microsoft Excel to enter, organize, and review financial data for daily billing activities. Requirements
- 1-3 years of accounts receivable or billing-related experience.
- Strong data entry ability with a high level of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with billing systems and computerized invoicing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail when reviewing financial and customer information.
- Ability to manage multiple invoice deadlines and follow customer-specific instructions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for handling customer billing inquiries.
