This vital role includes claims review, claim submission, insurance verification, payment posting, denial management, and working closely with families to provide clear and positive billing experiences. You will also ensure compliance with industry standards and optimizing revenue cycle management. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help deliver seamless billing experiences for our young patients and their families, supporting our mission to provide exceptional pediatric care. Duties Review and process medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems to ensure accurate reimbursement. Enter and verify data within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining precise medical records and billing information. Submit claims to insurance payers, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and initiate collections for overdue accounts through effective communication with insurance companies and patients. Analyze medical records to confirm proper documentation aligns with billing requirements; update records as needed for compliance. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures requiring detailed medical coding; ensure adherence to medical terminology standards. Monitor accounts receivable, identify discrepancies, and implement strategies to optimize collections while maintaining excellent patient relations. Stay current with industry regulations, including updates in ICD coding standards and insurance policies, to ensure ongoing compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing within a pediatric healthcare setting, with familiarity in medical office operations. Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and ICD coding principles. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for data entry, record management, and claim processing. Solid understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and the overall revenue cycle process. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical documentation accurately. Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients' families. Knowledge of medical collection practices and experience managing accounts receivable efficiently.
