Billing Specialist

Successful and growing Group Employee Benefits Insurance Brokerage seeks an energetic, intelligent and pleasant billing specialist The Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and managing customer invoices while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role involves working closely with customers and internal teams to resolve billing issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Reconcile and issue invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner Review billing data for completeness and resolve discrepancies Issue adjustments, credits, and refunds as needed Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries and payment status Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and customer accounts Follow up on outstanding balances as needed Collaborate with producers, account management, and customer service teams to ensure billing accuracy Assist with generating census and reporting as needed Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred 1-3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related role Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality

Basic understanding of accounting principles Problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Work Environment:

Office-based May require extended hours during billing cycles or peak enrollment season

Salary Range:

Varies by experience

Pay:

$20.37 - $29.35 per hour
