This role is ideal for someone who enjoys details, loves solving problems, and takes pride in making sure claims are accurate, compliant, and paid on time. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who believes that behind every claim is a patient and family who deserve exceptional care. Have you ever spotted a billing error from across the room? Do claim rejections bother you on a personal level? Do you secretly enjoy balancing reports, solving reimbursement puzzles, and making sure every dollar ends up exactly where it's supposed to? You might be our kind of person. What You'll Do Prepare, review, and submit hospice claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims Research and resolve billing issues, denials, and payment discrepancies Post payments and adjustments accurately Assist with accounts receivable management and collection activities Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation supports billing Verify patient insurance information and eligibility when needed Maintain compliance with all hospice billing regulations and payer requirements Assist with reporting and revenue cycle tracking Support ongoing process improvements as we continue to grow What We're Looking For Previous hospice billing experience strongly preferred Knowledge of Medicare hospice reimbursement requirements Experience working with claims submission and denial management Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently while remaining a team player Positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong computer and data-entry skills Bonus Points If You Actually enjoy spreadsheets Catch errors before anyone else notices them Have experience with hospice software and electronic medical records Love solving problems and improving processes What You'll Get Competitive salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Hospital Indemnity Coverage Critical Illness Coverage Extensive Paid time off Paid holidays Supportive leadership team A company culture that values people, teamwork, and doing the right thing At Spirit Hospice, we take our mission seriously, and we take enjoying our jobs seriously too.
