Medical Billing and Insurance Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable person to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all insurance verifications, ensuring accurate data input, obtaining prior authorizations from private insurances as well as workers comp and maintaining authorizations during the patient's treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, attention to detail, ability to work well with others, ability to be a self-starter, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is also responsible for answering phones, checking patients in, scheduling patients, faxes, and helping receptionist when needed. Responsibilities Review patient records and ensure accurate data input of patient and insurance information. Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as needed. Maintain organized medical records and documentation to support billing activities. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or authorizations is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of insurance is preferred Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills is a must Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
