STUDENT BILLING COORDINATOR
GENERALJOB SUMMARY
This is a full-time position located at the Administration Offices in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to cashier student accounts and financial aid, issue billing statements for students, engage with students regarding tuition balances, and initiate posting of balanced accounts to the general ledger. Administration Business Office/Finance Office Report to: Director of FinanceESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(% OF TIME): Constant (67-100%) Collect student account receivables and issue billing statements for tuition, fees, and other charges. Assist students with billing questions, payment plans, and support access to the student self-service portal. Review and verify student account activity to ensure charges, payments, and adjustments are accurate. Cashier student accounts, financial aid, deferred payments, and transfer fees at semester end. Conduct proactive outreach to students with outstanding balances via phone, email, and text and assist with resolution options. Frequent (34-66%) Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records of student communications and payment status. Manually enter miscellaneous charges. Complete student refunds as needed. Work with collection agencies to pursue recovery of delinquent accounts. Assist the Housing Coordinator with processing dorm deposits, and verification of room and board charges. Work with the Aviation Department to charge flight fees and maintain student flight accounts. Travel to College campuses to meet with students to review outstanding balances and provide payment guidance. Occasional (10-33%) Cashier miscellaneous accounts (clubs, athletics, etc.) for deposit. Assist with move-in day and freshman orientation. Assist with the creation and distribution of student tax documents. May be required to work extra hours during peak registration periods. Assist in various general office duties in the Campus offices, including but not limited to answering the telephone, assisting students and staff, and substitute in the absence of co-workers. Perform reconciliation tasks for general ledger accounts and bank accounts. Assist with employee personnel purchasing credit card review processes. Represent the College in a positive manner to prospective, former, and current students, staff, and the community. Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with students and other staff while providing positive customer service. Knowledge of and ability to use and format Microsoft Office and various computer software for generating reports and monitoring accounts. Thorough knowledge of office procedures, telephone etiquette, and basic office equipment, as well as correct English usage, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic. Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions or communication. Ability to efficiently perform tasks in an environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise good judgement when making decisions.SPECIAL DEMANDS
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion, constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing a personal vehicle. Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and provide proof of insurance. Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. High School Diploma or equivalency required. An associate degree in a related area is preferred. Accounting background with Microsoft Office and computer knowledge and experience required. Prior experience in a business setting is desired.Salary:
